Location Recce
On the 28th October, Me, Sam and Caesar went to look around the hotel, the purpose of this visit was so that we could all see and get a feel for what the hotel was like inside. With this we saw our visions of what we wanted the music video to look like just click into place with looking around the hotel. I think the hotel is going to be a perfect location for us to complete our music video.

Permissions
For the video we had to get permission from the hotel to use there premises, to begin with they were very reluctant to let us use the hotel due to them thinking that we would disturb the whole atmosphere of the hotel. After a chat with the hotel manager, describing that we would be mainly using a hotel room, staying fairly out of the way, they were very happy to co-operate. They were also happy as they would be getting their name at the end of the video too. Sam was unable to look at the music video in College, so when Guy showed us round I took some photograph's which I then emailed to Sam. Here are the photographs:

Health and Safety
Health and safety at the hotel is key, as there will be a lot of other members of the public around. There are a lot of flights of stairs, which we are going to have to be careful of these and making sure that wires are not left un-attended at any time.

Task 19; Story Board, Notes & Drawings

Here are some photograph's which I have taken of my rough drawings and storyboarding when I was planning my ideas of my music video.

Here is the photograhs, they demonstrate what I am planning to do in my music video, me, Les and Sam created when we were coming up with ideas for the whole music video. My drawings are rough but you can see from the drawings what I am aimed to do in my music video.

Task 19; Mood Board

Here is a moodboard that me & sam created. These are the types of look we want to create with his video. I really the "lonely" atmosphere created in all of the picture clips. We want to create the video that is focused in the studio on the artist and nothing else. If other things are happening in the video, there are distractions so stop you from concentrating on the artist. Also most record companies will want to see the artist all of the time. Sam wants to create an energetic studio shoot where he is bouncy about and putting all his effort into playing up to the camera, this will fit in both with his personality and extremely well with the whole atmosphere of the song.

Task 19; Treatment

Treatment; How We Are Going To Do It

For the music video we are thinking of using two different settings, one is the Studio which is at college and the other is St Giles House Hotel.
The studio is going to be used for the chorus section and the other sections of the song, that don't fit in with the 'Hotel Look'.

We want to use the two different scenes so that it gives some difference to the music video. The studio part of the music video is going to be very energetic and lively. This will convey Sam's passion for music and tie in well with the whole atmosphere of the video. This follows the typical conventions of a "Rapping" music video shoot.

We decided to have a different location in the music video too, so it adds a bit of difference to the video. The hotel will add clarity and style to the music video, it will also involve a girl too which will show a different passion. The hotel shoot will feature whilst the chorus is playing, as Sam doesn't rap this, but he could sing it.

Task 19; Detailed Proposal

Detailed Proposal; What We Are Going To Do For The Music Video

I decided to work by myself for this project, even though it means doing all the work by myself it is going to be easier in the way, I don’t have to rely on anyone else, that might fail me.

My artist Sam (Arkaic) and Leslie, his manager are who I am working with. They are both very supportive towards me and assisting me whenever I have needed help. As Sam, is a professional artist it makes me more pressurized due to the fact they require a top notch video. But I think the added pressure is good, it keeps the artist very involved in the video as he wants it to be able to release on television but also it keeps me on my toes as it needs to be top notch.

The music video is going to be set in the studio and also in St Giles House Hotel. We wanted to mix the two together so there is a mix of the two settings which will add depth and difference to the overall look of the video. The studio is going to be used for mainly the chorus and a few other sections too. We want to use green/blue screen as well so we can edit the background in Photoshop to tie in with the whole of Arkaic’s look! Also using a white background so that we can use the white background to change the colour of the background with the beat possibly. Keeping the neon theme running throughout the video. For the hotel, we are using it to create a narrative for the music video as this is what Sam wanted to create, right from the very first meeting together. The hotel is a very luxurious hotel, which ties in well with the whole look of the video. With ease of access as its in the city centre and with also Sam working there too, it makes a great opportunity for us to give the music video a bit of class mixed into it.

For the music video we want to use a variety of different styles, using a variety of camera angles, which are going to be quite snappy to fit in with the beat of the track. We want to use a lot of different editing techniques too, to show the different styles that I can do as well as keeping the video watchable all the way through, to make sure the viewer is entertained and watches the whole video.
